ID-TS network continues the work of various initiatives in the past that sprung within the EST network:
- the EST TS Doc working group on the integration of doctoral programs in TS (2007-2010). The working group members: Yves Gambier (chair), Reine Meylaerts, Christiane Nord, Nike K. Pokorn, Ubaldo Stecconi, and Luise von Flotow.
- the EST Doctoral Studies Committee (2010-2016), steering committee: Reine Meylaerts (chair), Yves Gambier, Christina Schäffner, Dilek Dizdar, Nike K. Pokorn, Brian James Baer, Deborah Folaron. The steering committee prepared the network’s founding documents adopted by the EST board chaired by Anthony Pym.
The network was officially established in 2016 by EST, but the official launch was postponed to September 2017 in Vienna. Initially it consisted of 14 member institutions from 11 countries.
